Effective today, Kobus Lindeque is joining Syngenta Seeds in the role of Seeds Business Area Head South Africa, reporting to Erhan Er, Seeds Business Unit Head for Africa, Middle East (AME) and Turkey.
In this new role, Kobus will serve as managing director for Sensako, a South African seed company that Syngenta Seeds acquired in August 2020. He will be responsible initially for leading the Sensako integration and planning for the growth of Syngenta’s seeds business in South Africa.

Kobus joins Syngenta Seeds with more than 20 years of seeds and plant breeding experience. Most recently, he worked for Afrikelp Holdings where he was Managing Director since 2018. Prior to Afrikelp, he was Managing Director of Roche Sequencing Solutions (2013-2018) and served as Managing Director of Monsanto Africa (2001-2013), leading the launch of multiple biotechnology traits in South Africa.
“I’m thrilled to be working with the talented teams of Syngenta and Sensako,” said Lindeque. “Bringing together Syngenta’s global experience with Sensako’s expertise in South Africa will allow us to offer exceptional products and innovation to growers in the region.”
